Memorial Week trip
James and Michael went out to a "fancy restaurant" to celebrate James' birthday. Michael dined on calamari and rare tuna.
We enjoyed the Vandalia Festival in Charleston.
Here the kids are enjoying some banjo ans fiddle music. We also watched and participated in square dancing.
While in Dayton there was a tornado. Our van suffered some serious damage. Busted windshield, side view mirror, tail light and sunroof. And the baseball sized hail did a number on the body too.
In Cincinnati, my grandmother was thrilled to see the children. Philo took them to pick strawberries in her garden, which they loved.
Taking a walk on the boulevard along the Kanawha River. We even watched a train go by loaded with coal.
As always the highlight of the trip was Francis' pool. He surprised the children by installing a slide. It was a hit.
Elizabeth would shoot down like a bullet. She loved it. Even Andrew would go down the bottom half and splash into the pool.
We celebrated Elizabeth's birthday too. For dinner we had lamb and Elizabeth kept asking for more Baaaa lamb.
